We are able to fix the issue by uninstalling .Net Framework 4.5 on the affected workstation. dotConnect for Oracle version 5.70.190 works correctly with .Net Framework 4.0. We are also able to try dotConnect for Oracle version 8.3.125 (with .Net Framework 4.0) without any issues. Thanks for the support.

We are using dotConnect for Oracle version 5.70.190. This version is installed on our production server and the application runs fine with the same code. This problem appears in developer workstations when running the application under Visual Studo 2010. Hence an upgrade at this point is not warranted.

Seems like the problem is related to the version of Oracle client software installed on the machines. Please let us know how dotConnect for Oracle, interacts with the Oracle client software.

Ignore columns in SSDL

Hello,

We use dotconnect for Oracle and have three schemas (Master, Staging and Prod) in our database. We have three SSDL files, one corresponding to each schema. Until now all the schemas had the same table structure, but now we have less number of columns in one of the table in one schema. We have one Data Model for all three schemas and use the different SSDL files when querying the corresponding schema. Is there a way to ignore columns in the SSDL file (or elsewhere), so we can continue using a single Data Model?

AssociationSetMapping for Composite PK - Foreign Key

Hello,

We are using dotconnect for Oracle v5.70.152 for generating Entity Framework.

We have a Product table with sku as PK and ProductDescription table with sku, languageId as composite PK. The sku in ProductDescription table is a FK to the (PK) sku column in Product table. When we generate the EF, the sku FK relationship is not mapped. If the FK is not part of a PK, the relationship is generated correctly.

Please let us know if this is a bug in the Devart EF.

Update Related Entities

We are using dotconnect for Oracle to generate our EDM for website.

The entities are detached since we pass them thru our service layer. We have a User table, with a foreign key to a Role table. When a User's role is updated the foreign key is not updated in the User Table.

The EDM generates a Role property and RoleReference property on the User Entity. When the SaveChanges method is called, the above two property changes are not propogated to the DB, since they are in Unchanged State (due to the dettached nature of the User Entity).
