I will run the query for both EdmGen and for the VS Integration and send them to you - I am somewhat skeptical that they are the same problem, because the errors I am getting back are quite different, but I will pass on the results I get from the SQL query that you want me to execute for you to analyze.

Andrey - I know that I can use the Visual Studio integration, but there are some cases where I don't want to and I want to be able to use EdmGen - EdmGen is not obsolete as it can still be used (and is used) for other database platforms. Are you saying that the DevArt provider no longer supports using EdmGen?

Error when trying to create a model
I have a fairly large Oracle DB - and when I try to create a model from that database even by selecting just one very simple table - the model fails to generate with the following error
An exception of type 'Microsoft.Data.Entity.Design.VisualStudio.ModelWizard.Engine.ModelBuilderEngine+GenerateSSDLException' occurred while attempting to update from the database. The exception message is: 'Unable to cast object of type 'System.DBNull' to type 'System.String'
Please note that this error is the same whether I am trying to update the model or just generate it brand-new the first time. The designer quits and leaves me with an empty model. I can't find any log file that would give me more detail on why this is happening.

EdmGen problems
I am trying to run EdmGen to create my model off of an Oracle DB and have tried it on several different Oracle Databases and I get the same error no matter what DB I try it on.
error 6003: An error occurred while executing the command definition. See the inner exception for details.
ORA-00936: missing expression
I would expect to be able to use EdmGen with the DevArt provider - any ideas?

Visual Studio Database Professional Integration
With MS announcing changes to their VS Database Professionals SKU making it extensible so that third parties (like IBM which they announced at Tech Ed) can plug into it any hope for OraDeveloper Studio plugging into that? The hope is that developers don't have to learn different development tool concepts based on which DB they are using.
