Installation Lazarus 0.9.30 win64 with ODAC 7.20 trial

Post by hannes_a » Sat 30 Jul 2011 13:16

for evaluation purpose I followed install instruction %ODAC%\doc\ODAC.pdf site 29

1: download ODAC 7.20 trial
2: copy ODAC dir to C:\Program Files\lazarus
2.1 there is no %ODAC%\Source\Lazarus1\dclodac.lpk :shock:
2.2.1 I open %ODAC%\packages\dclodac10.lpk instead
3. push 'Install'
4. translated message
Package dclodac10.lpk was marked for installation.
recent Lazarus only supports static linked packages.
Real installation needs compile and restart of Lazarus

Do you want Lazarus recompile ?
4.1 No -> nothing installed
4.2 Yes -> can't find CRAccess used by dac10
2.2.2 I open %ODAC%\packages\dcldac10.lpk instead
-> see 3 and 4

what did I wrong :?:

Hello,

Thank you for the information.
We've reproduced and fixed the problem.
This fix will be included in the next build.
At the moment you should move all files from the %ODAC%\Lib directory to the %ODAC%\packages\Lib directory and install the dclodac10.lpk package once more to avoid this problem.

your suggested destination directory already exist but I miss your source directory.
ok, I try switch between source and destination directory, but same behavior

I hope you next version will work on win64 and linux64 as well

Hello,

We've checked the trial version of ODAC for Lazarus (odacfpc2.exe) once more, and after installation the Lib directory is available only in the %ODAC% root folder. Please try to download the trial version once more and install it the way I have written you earlier (uninstall the previous version before installation).

We plan to add support for the x64 OS (Windows and Linux) in the new version of our products.
