New Versions of ADO.NET Data Providers Available in Beta
June 19, 2007
Core Lab Software Development has announced the release of beta versions of the next versions of OraDirect .NET, MySQLDirect .NET, and PostgreSQLDirect .NET. There are many small improvements that make the development process much more convenient and pleasureful. Particularly, there were enhanced DbCommand and DbCommandBuilder components, improved support for provider-specific types, performed some design time additions.
We have devoted efforts to reorganizing and enhancing the demo projects in the products. Now almost all of the demos are united into single project that simplifies playing around and diving into code. We have added a new demo for .NET Compact Framework, which shows how to check the network availability from a mobile device.
There are several database-specific enhancements. For MySQLDirect .NET, we have introduced support for Visual Studio codename Orcas Beta 1 and Entity Framework, as well as DotNetNuke version 4.5. For OraDirect .NET, Proxy Authentication and OCI Pooling were supported.
For a complete list of new features refer to the history pages of each product. You can download the beta versions from the Downloads page.
If you wish to provide feedback on the new versions, you can do it in our forums or by e-mail. We are always glad to hear your comments and take into account your development needs.
