06-Nov-08 dbForge Query Builder for MySQL 1.00 Released!
Devart announces the release of a new full-featured dbForge Query Builder for MySQL, which replaces the discontinued product - SQL Builder for MySQL.
dbForge Query Builder for MySQL is a professional tool for convenient developing queries and scripts and improved working with data.
This is the list of key features of Query Builder.
Visual Query Creation
You can quickly build very complex SELECT statements (containing multiple tables, joins, conditions, and subqueries) without typing any code.
The state-of-art diagram visually presents all elements of your query. You can quickly add tables to a query via drag-and-dropping. Using the powerful expression editor, you can effortlessly control columns, aliases, and functions in one place, set composite WHERE and HAVING conditions, and quickly change grouping and ordering. You can save a query to a file.
Advanced SQL Handling
To speed up coding and script development, the SQL editor presents the following features:
- Syntax highlight, while typing
- Code completion options for all keywords, database objects, and their members
- A customizable collection of code templates
- Automatic SQL syntax check
- One-click access to schema objects' definitions
- On-the-fly renaming of database objects
- Extended options for code formatting
Advanced scripting features include bookmarks, a navigation bar for jumping to mentioned objects, incremental search, outlining, and easy script navigation with the Document Outline window. You can keep track of the statements you executed and recall them, if required, thanks to SQL history.
Enhanced Working with Data
Experience new opportunities to analyze and process received data the best way. With Query Builder you can do the following:
- Group, filter, and sort data in the grid
- View data rows as neat cards
- Display large bulks of data in the paginal mode
- Work with binary and long text data fields using LOB (Large Object) windows
- Find the required data using the auto-search mode
Based on your needs, you can preview and print the selected data or export into 10 widely-used formats (Text, DBF, HTML, MS Access, MS Excel, ODBC, PDF, RTF, CVS, and XML) with additional settings.
The data editor gives you a full control of the data update process with both cached and write-through update modes and connection-level transactions.

You can get good instructions on any Query Builder's interface component, pressing F1 key. The help documentation consists of conveniently organized sections covering Query Builder functionality, a collection of How-To docs, and a complete reference for user interface components and SQL statement syntax.
