Connect DBxtra to EmailOctopus and access data

Accessing a EmailOctopus database can be fast and seamless with an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) solution. Devart ODBC Driver for EmailOctopus provides full interoperability and allows you to access live EmailOctopus data. The driver enables you to retrieve, view, and modify EmailOctopus data directly within DBxtra.

Step 1. Set up the ODBC data source

Install the driver and create a Data Source Name (DSN) for your connection. In DBxtra, click the Home tab, expand the Data Connection drop-down list and select the required connection type.

Step 2. Set up a connection

In the Connect through ODBC dialog, enter the Connection name, click the three-dot button to choose the Data source from the drop-down menu, and select the appropriate User Groups.

Step 3. View EmailOctopus data

On the Query tab, select objects by expanding corresponding nodes in the Data Objects window, and specify the object columns. Click the Data Grid tab and view your data on the dashboard.

How to download, install, and configure Devart ODBC Driver for EmailOctopus

Download the driver

Click Download in the upper-right corner of this page. Under Download for Windows, click Download next to the EXE or MSI file or—if you're not signed in—click Get Trial, sign up or sign in to your Devart account, and then click Download next to the needed file.

Run the downloaded installer. Click Next and follow the instructions.

If you don't have an activation key yet, select Trial; if you've already purchased a license, select Activation Key and enter your key. Then, click Next. To complete the driver installation, click Finish.

Open ODBC Data Source Administrator

Click Start on the taskbar, type ODBC Data Sources, and select a matching result. The ODBC Data Source Administrator opens.

Add a data source (DSN)

Go to the User DSN or System DSN tab and click Add. Select the driver and click Finish.

On the General tab, enter a Data Source Name, Description, and other details required to connect to the data source.

Complete the configuration

Click Test Connection to make sure that all details are correct. Then, click OK to save the data source and complete the configuration.
