Connect RStudio to Jira Service Management and access data

Accessing a Jira Service Management database can be fast and seamless with an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) solution. Devart ODBC Driver for Jira Service Management provides full interoperability and allows you to access live Jira Service Management data. The driver enables you to retrieve, view, and modify Jira Service Management data directly within RStudio.

Step 1. Configure a Data Source Name (DSN)

Install the driver and configure an ODBC data source in driver settings. You can check the connection by clicking Test Connection.

Step 2. Initiate an ODBC connection

Open RStudio. In the Output pane, go to the Packages tab and select the RODBC (ODBC Database Access) checkbox.

Step 3. Retrieve Jira Service Management data

In the Console pane, enter your script and press Enter to run it. View the result in the Source and Environment panes.

Open ODBC Data Source Administrator

Click Start on the taskbar, type ODBC Data Sources, and select a matching result. The ODBC Data Source Administrator opens.

Add a data source (DSN)

Go to the User DSN or System DSN tab and click Add. Select the driver and click Finish.

On the General tab, enter a Data Source Name, Description, and other details required to connect to the data source.

Click Test Connection to make sure that all details are correct. Then, click OK to save the data source and complete the configuration.
