Connect Oracle Business Intelligence to Slack and access data

Accessing a Slack database can be fast and seamless with an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) solution. Devart ODBC Driver for Slack provides full interoperability and allows you to access live Slack data. The driver enables you to retrieve, view, and modify Slack data directly within Oracle Business Intelligence.

Step 1. Create a new repository

Launch Oracle BI Administration Tool and create a new repository. Click Next.

Step 2. Select the data source

Select the data source from the list and click Next.

Step 3. Select metadata types

Select the metadata types you want to import and click Next.

Step 4. Select the table to import

Select the table you want to import and click Finish.

Step 5. Access Slack data

For the table you imported, double-click Connection Pool. Enter your credentials. When prompted, confirm your password. Click OK.

Step 6. View Slack data

Right-click the table name and select View Data. The data from the selected table will be displayed.

Open ODBC Data Source Administrator

Click Start on the taskbar, type ODBC Data Sources, and select a matching result. The ODBC Data Source Administrator opens.

Add a data source (DSN)

Go to the User DSN or System DSN tab and click Add. Select the driver and click Finish.

On the General tab, enter a Data Source Name, Description, and other details required to connect to the data source.

Complete the configuration

Click Test Connection to make sure that all details are correct. Then, click OK to save the data source and complete the configuration.
