Broad Compatibility Options of dbForge Studio for MySQL

dbForge Studio for MySQL supports the most popular MySQL search engines and cloud services, thus allowing you to select the most suitable for your needs. With such cloud services as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Google Cloud, Galera Cluster, and Percona, high performance, reliability, and scalability are guaranteed. Stop worrying about security issues and data theft - get connected to dbForge Studio for MySQL!

The MySQL cloud services and search engines are as follows:

Database Servers

MySQL Server

An open-source server with a huge amount of table types such as MyISAM supporting a full text search and InnoDB containing transactions of separate records. Due to the open architecture and GPL-license, the number of new table types is always increasing.

MariaDB Server

MariaDB is an open-source database server used to turn data into structured information for various applications. It supports a lot of storage engines, plugins, and other tools which make it ultimate for use by users.

Percona server provides high performance, reliability, and security including scalability as well as query, object and user level tools. In addition, Percona tools drastically decrease downtime on the servers with large memory and poor speed as well as minimize highload.

Galera Cluster

Galera Cluster is an open-source database cluster for MySQL with synchronous multi-master replication. It provides high system uptime, no data and transaction lost as well as no single point failure. With Galera MySQL, it is possible to write and read from any MySQL Server, to automatically control membership and to directly connect to client machines, and much more.

Cloud Services

Amazon RDS

Amazon RDS for MySQL is a cloud service that simplifies the process of setting up and scaling databases. With this service, users can perform fast deployment and automatically run backup and updates of database software.

More information

Amazon Aurora

Amazon Aurora for MySQL is a relational database engine compatible with MySQL databases that delivers secure and reliable tools to manage, backup, restore databases and automatically detect database errors. As a benefit, there is no need in disabling access to databases when it is required to repair failures - it can be done on the backend.

Google Cloud

Secure and reliable Google Cloud MySQL with high performance that allows users to store their information, develop applications in the Google command-line interface, protect access to the resources allocated on the Google platform, deliver ultimate reliability, and much more.

Moreover, with Google Cloud SQL, you can easily control MySQL database management, as well as create automated backups and recoveries, which timeframe you can set in a few clicks.

Alibaba Cloud

A fully-featured suite of services including data storage, relational database and big-data processing, anti-DDoS, mobile protection, and much more. With Alibaba Cloud, users can manage and monitor their cloud performance in a real-time mode.

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

With an SSL certificate, users can transmit data without worrying about their data theft or loss. This certificate encrypts data and ensures that all the information transmitted via the Internet is private and that no one even if they get access to it will read messages or disclose data.

Secure Shell (SSH)

SSH is a network protocol that provides secure communication in the client/server environment. SSH protocols guarantee secure authentication and data transmission. In addition, with this protocol, data is encrypted into a set of symbols to prevent data from theft or interception.

HTTP Tunneling

HTTP tunneling is a technique used to transmit data from a client (MySQL) to a web-server and vise versa via HTTP/HTPPS protocols. With dbForge Studio for MySQL, it may be used as a workaround when a firewall blocks the access from all network protocols (except HTTP) or when it is not possible to do this for security reasons.

PAM Percona

PAM Percona works on MySQL and Percona Server. It correctly recognizes whether input data should be duplicated or not. Additionally, PAM Percona can use the password which is passed to MySQL client via "-p" parameter.

Storage Engines

MyISAM is a full-text storage engine used in web and other application environments. It stores data in files and creates a separate file for each table. To move on, MyISAM is optimized for the INSERT operations, especially at high runtime.

InnoDB supports Multi Version Concurrency Control (MVCC), transactions and foreign keys that may prevent aborted operations. Furthermore, it blocks tables at a row level. By default, tables are stored in a sharable file.

It is an open-source powerful storage engine with a built-in Fractal tree index based on the Percona server. With this engine, users can reduce the size of databases by up to 90% and improve performance of large databases, as well as modify schema in an online mode. When you experience high runtime and workload, use TokuDB.

The NDBCLUSTER storage engine may be used for applications with high availability and performance. It enables clustering of in-memory databases in the environment where each component has its own memory and disk.

The MERGE storage engine combines MyISAM tables with identical columns and index formation that are listed in the same order into one logical table. It is possible to use the following operators there: SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT. MERGE tables can easily exceed the maximum file size limit imposed by an operating system.

The MEMORY storage engine, mostly used as a temporary or read-only method to retrieve data from other tables, provides replication and query cache support. It supports hash and B-tree indexes, as well as data encryption for security reasons. Alternatively, users can schedule data backup and recovery.

The storage engine allows users to create a table with the identical structure and to retrieve data by connecting to a remote server. Local data can be stored either on a local or remote MySQL instance. In the local directory, only the .frm file is created. It is possible to deploy the FEDERATED storage engine on a local server after the table is created on the remote server. In addition, the query syntax is checked on the local server.

Search Engine

Sphinx search engine is an open-source search engine designed to perform full data text search to applications. It provides high indexing and search speed, distributed searching capabilities. In addition, it supports boolean, phrase, and word queries as well as multiple full-text fields per document.
