dotConnect for PostgreSQL 4.50 Beta Available!
March 17, 2009
dotConnect for PostgreSQL makes another leap in its development towards being
the absolute leader in PostgreSQL connectivity. The new version 4.50 will greatly
enhance product capabilities and fill the last gaps in implementation of
LINQ to PostgreSQL and Entity Framework
support.
dotConnect for PostgreSQL is enhanced with SSL connections and binary mode
in PgSqlLoader. There are new classes in dotConnect for PostgreSQL:
PgSqlAlerter to handle LISTEN/NOTIFY commands, PgSqlArray to represent
PostgreSQL ARRAY data type, and PgSqlLargeObject to support PostgreSQL
large objects. PgSqlDump now can optionally include different database
object types.
In LINQ to PostgreSQL, dotConnect introduces full support for stored procedures,
user-defined functions, database management, and SqlMethods class.
In Entity Framework support, Entity Developer 2
now fully replaces standard
Microsoft tools with better solutions for model creation and management.
Entity Developer is much faster and more flexible than Visual Studio wizards
and designers for Entity Framework and LINQ to SQL models.
You are welcome to enjoy the world of efficient application development with
the new dotConnect for PostgreSQL!
